HOW - Act One.
An exhibition in two acts.
7 November 2019
In the first act of HOW, the video performs the action, the drawn scene acts, animated, that from the paper becomes video, and vice versa. All in pencil and painted black, as a remote possibility, and futuristic.
An imagined, imaginary theater that stages the “animal theater”, and its how.
A field that foresees only a cycle made of repetitions and a space, that of drawing, between the human and the invented. As if the two – the human and the invented – could only belong together.
Drawing knows how to do with its own and improper time, regulated and altered.
The theatre of poetry. Both tiny, one tiny in the tiny.

Live video of the opening of the exhibition
Act One. First scene (Video)
That action of “vegetable growth” – as if it were a crowded dialogue – and an incessant wind (a resounding AS from elsewhere) that happens: here this apparition, a category of poetry, leaves us waiting for itself and its elements, as we expected, as we expected it, as we expected nothing more than the sweetened surprise of a dialoguing foliage that could populate and depopulate together the surroundings (the unconscious?) of a chair.
Act One. Second scene (Video)
A mirrored and interpreted actor, here is (in his alternating black and white) the “staged” wolf: he loses his head, and “you” grab his head again – again a sequence, a repetition (composition and decomposition), this time frontal – again a wind from elsewhere, which seems to bring here the movement of the dismemberment – the drawing does not bleed, its sense a bit ‘yes, it is black and white as the fright.
Act One. Third scene (Video)
The third video, a devil (a wolf devil?), perhaps amused (as always, a guy like that?) chimes a wall with his “ladle” – it probably measures a time AS a potion, it clocks “something” – jolts, its movement, leaves/beats a disturbing game in repeating itself, and there is only that wind, still from elsewhere, to mark this “senseless act”, to ask a “forgotten” question, that leaves all of us in the nonsense of being there and not even being there?
